A searchable record of artists working with moving image in Bangladesh, both at home and across the diaspora. Each entry carries a biography, a filmography, and links to any of the artist's work showing elsewhere on this site. It is far from complete and never really will be, which is rather the idea. It grows as we find people, and as people find us. The starting point again was an open call for works from Bangladesh and the Bangladeshi diaspora which was made at the end of 2025 as part of the wider Midnight’s Third Child project.

Reetu Sattar is a performance-based artist and filmmaker based in Dhaka. Her practice is led by somatic intelligence and reflects on human perception and the imperceptible, colonial historiography, environmental refugees and the unequal terms of labour cycles in Bangladesh. She makes durational, intermedia assemblages that combine performance, text, installation, photography and film, revising conventional theatre practice along the way. She trained in experimental theatre and film at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen and holds a postgraduate degree in Visual Arts from the Jan Van Eyck Academy in the Netherlands. Recent exhibitions include the Sharjah Biennial, Serendipity Arts Festival, Istanbul Biennial, British Textile Biennial, International Film Festival Rotterdam, Liverpool Biennial and Dhaka Art Summit, with showings at the British Film Institute, Alserkal Avenue and the Ishara Art Foundation in Dubai, Artspace in Sydney, Palais de Tokyo in Paris and NTU CCA Singapore. Her first film premiered at IFFR in 2019 and her second, Shabnam, at IFFR in 2023. She is a member of Britto Arts Trust, and the Dhaka theatre group Prachyanat has shaped her practice.
