Mehedi Mostafa

Mehedi Mostafa is a Bangladeshi filmmaker whose films watch urban space transform and trace the emotional lives of the people inside it. He studied architecture in Dhaka before joining the Mumbai film school Whistling Woods International, completing a diploma in filmmaking with a specialisation in direction in 2017. His short documentary Fantasy in a Concrete Jungle (2023) was selected for the Lab Competition at the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival, where it won the Lab Student Prize, and went on to Tampere, Fribourg, Encounters, Short Film Week Regensburg and Dharamshala. He has taken part in Docedge Kolkata, the UnionDocs Summer Documentary Lab and the Locarno South Asia Industry Academy. He is currently working on a documentary and developing a fiction feature.
