Santua Tripura

Santua Tripura is a multidisciplinary artist from the Chittagong Hill Tracts. His work is rooted in the landscapes, oral traditions and lived experience of indigenous communities, and explores cultural memory, identity, resilience and intergenerational knowledge. He leads Ruwang Collective Arts, a platform that brings indigenous artists together and supports their work and cultures in Bangladesh. His performance work includes Holing Burasa (2022), drawn from the figure of Burasa in Tripura folk culture, and Trap in Tapestry (2023), which reflects on the dormant individual and collective consciousness of his region under the pressure of state-driven development.
